Help Mrs. Claus
Aug. 06, 2019 12:15 p.m.
Jennifer is an interior designer in Dix Hills with her daughter and boyfriend.
She started the charity Mrs Claus for a Cause in 2010. Mrs Claus answers the wishes of impoverished children living in the shelter system and in foster care and provides the items they need for success and happiness at holiday time, such as a toy, school supplies, clothing or shoes.
They work with Harlem Dowling, a child welfare agency in NYC and their social workers help the children write to us with their needs.
They collect all the items and host a wrapping party at the house every year. She also host a holiday party for the children, bus them in for the party, and hand deliver all of their presents to them.
It started with just Jennifer. It has grown to over 1,000 volunteers. To date, they have delivered wishes to over 2,000 children.
This year they are expanding again and need more volunteers for their sleigh.

Superkids
Aug. 13, 2019 12:15 p.m.
The Superkids Foundation is an international non-profit that teaches literacy, leadership and life skills in partnership with elementary schools. In a country ranked as one of the worst in quality of primary education, Superkids works to empower kids to become superheroes in their communities. Through a combination of workshops, camps, and community projects, older students become “kid-teacher” leaders by teaching literacy to younger students.
We mobilize the children who DO know how to read and get them to teach the other children how to read. Superkids has launched the first incubator for child leadership in all of Paraguay. Kid Teachers has met tremendous success. So far, 60 Kid Teachers in a small town in Paraguay have taught more than 4000 hours of literacy to another 120 kids.
The organization has an opportunity for college-aged students during the upcoming winter break, where interns will have the benefit of developing their international relations skills in a startup setting while improving their working fluency of Spanish.

Camp Pa Qua Tuck
Aug. 27, 2019 12:15 p.m.
Bridget Reilly Costello joined Camp Pa Qua Tuck in 2009 as the Summer Director. In 2010, she became the Executive Director. In April, 2019 Bridget retired from her position at the Camp but was delighted that the Board of Directors embraced her idea of P/T work promoting the camp as she eased her way into retirement. Bridget was raised with a Special Needs brother and is his Guardian. This had more to do with her decision to pursue advocacy for individuals with Special Needs than anything else.
Proud mother of 3, wife to Michael, a Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient, Bridget volunteers at the V.A. Hospital in Northport. Additionally, one of her children was born with a non-functioning liver and Bridget was able to donate a portion of her liver to save her baby 20 years ago. As a result, she has been a member of the Alpha 1 Foundation for 20 years and has traveled all over to speak to others facing this life-changing situation.
Bridget spent 30 years in the non-profit world and has observed the best practices in several large non- profits. Her goal has been to bring those best practices to Camp Pa Qua tuck. Bridget is also a member of AFP, the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She has great regard for her predecessors at camp and hopes that she can carry on the legacy of continuous improvement that they have initiated.

Coalition of Concerned Legal Professionals
Sep. 03, 2019 12:15 p.m.
1. Speaker Bio: Susan E. Prensky: Spent 15 years organizing low-income service workers from NJ to Boston . This experience taught her the need, and general unavailability of meaningful access to the courts for poor and working people. In 1998 she took on the lead role as Operations Manager of New York State Coalition of Concerned Legal Professionals (CCLP). She has been a professional volunteer organizer for over 38 years. Peggy Foy, Esq.: A member of NYS CCLP Board of Directors, Ms. Foy is a long-time resident of Suffolk County and graduate of Touro Law School. She has been a practicing attorney for over 25 years, with a concentration in family law and criminal defense. She currently volunteers with CCLP providing pro bono legal advice and speaking at “Know Your Law” sessions. 2. Mission and topic of the speaker: Topic: What a difference meaningful access to legal recourse makes in the lives of low-income people. Mission: COALITION OF CONCERNED LEGAL PROFESSIONALS (CCLP) is an all-volunteer, non-government funded association of legal professionals who work with organizations whose members find gaining access to legal recourse increasingly difficult. Volunteer attorneys assisted by lay volunteer advocates provide free of charge legal advice to members of organizations of service workers, temporary workers, independent contractors, manual laborers and other low-income workers without job protections, struggling to survive in today’s “gig” economy. Volunteer lawyers also conduct free-of-charge “Know Your Law” information sessions for membership organizations on areas of law including employment rights, wage theft, immigration, debt and credit issues and landlord-tenant law. Through these sessions, CCLP has benefited thousands: we have saved homes from foreclosure; prevented evictions; won back wages owed, but not paid; assisted with immigration problems; protected people from consumer debt they did not owe and more. As volunteer advocates guide those making requests for assistance through the process of resolving legal problems, participants are united to build organizational solutions in their communities, utilizing an array of activities to publicize their efforts and contact all those affected by the problem – Including the legal sessions; production of posters, fliers and other publications; letter writing, phone calls and presentations at public hearings, in classrooms at universities, unions, churches and other organizations. For information or to find out about volunteering, please call CCLP today, at (212) 791-1364.

The Motivation Method: Strategies for Unstoppable Motivation
Nov. 26, 2019 12:15 p.m.
The Motivation Method: Strategies for Unstoppable Motivation Before she was a motivational maven, Corrie LoGiudice experienced this often. In a span of 4 years, she experienced miscarriage, abuse, divorce and suicide loss. What she’s learned through her own experience is growth stagnates when you don’t change your strategy to accommodate your current reality. She eventually figured out that there are 5 areas that if out of alignment will slow your motivation. When she strategized how to address the imbalances, both hers and her client's motivation becomes unstoppable. She calls it the Motivation Method, and in this talk she summaries how it works and how you can start using it today. This keynote is humorous, honest, and motivational. The audience will not only be captivated but will leave the event feeling more confident in their own abilities and prepared to go get their goals. Corrie LoGiudice is a motivational strategist & speaker, host, influencer and motivational maven. She’s a former SVP, single mom, and survivor of miscarriage, divorce, abuse & suicide loss. She utilized her trauma to fuel her motivation instead of set her back, and now teaches others to do the same.
