John Jabari Michel is a nutritionist and health & wellness professional with over 17 years of experience, education and expertise. Jabari formed Quest Nutrition Network in 2012 with goals of assisting clients in achieving optimum health through nutrition, exercise, meditation and mental health. Jabari spreads the message of Optimum Health through his speaking engagements, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and You tube, as well as one on one coaching consultations. Jabari began his journey into nutrition as a result of growing up in a family with health challenges such as overweight/obesity, diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Having witnessed several family members and close friends succumb to untimely deaths due to poor health and nutrition habits, Jabari directed his time and energy towards educating himself on nutrition and health. At age 19 he removed Pork, Beef and Chicken from his diet and instead of cow’s milk, he opted with almond milk. Upon completion of his bachelor’s degree in Nutrition in 2006, Jabari later re-enrolled into CUNY Queens College to complete his master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science in 2016.
As a nutritionist, nutrition researcher, professional public speaker and martial artist (Jabari studied Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do for over 6 years) Mr Jabari’s deep knowledge comes from his personal journey as well as having an insatiable drive to gather the latest information on behavior modification science, weight loss, and technology, and his experience working in the field with many people to help them achieve their lifestyle goals. He understands the struggles of behavior change and the obstacles that many face in their desire to become healthier. In addition, having had many years working in corporate companies, his expertise has led him to establish corporate wellness program initiatives which provide companies with strategies for a healthier work culture.
Nutrition and Wellness-The talk that will be given is on Heart Disease and Weight loss and Steps towards Optimum Health. Mr Michel will discuss ways that individuals can lose weight, stay healthy and overcome one of the most devastating diseases in our nation today.
